  • He goes to Thunderbird High School and his favorite car is a Chrysler.
  • He's never been arrested.
  • Just call him Dr. Baseball.
What are your interests?
I like sports. I play a lot of different sports: swimming, basketball, baseball.

Where do you go to school?
I go to Thunderbird High School.

Which sport are you best at?
Baseball.

[Teens] need to open up to Jesus and let Him guide them.
What position to you play?
I play centerfield.

What are the lessons that you have learn in sports that relate to your faith life?
Leadership, definitely. My coaches always tell me that I am a quiet leader. So just by my actions, how I act for the team.

Were you planning on coming to this retreat? How did it work out that you got here?
Well, my sister came here a few years ago. She went to the retreat and so my parents told me I should really go. And I was planning to go next year, but they talked me into going this year. And so my sister, I think went two years, when they were allowed to go two years. But since we can’t go anymore, this is my only year.

What’s been the highlight so far?
The highlight for me was the rap session with just the guys. It really spoke to me. It kinda showed me what I can improve on.

What can you improve on?
Definitely how I treat the opposite sex, how I look at them. Not lustfully, just respect them for who they are.

What’s the biggest fear you have about going back home? Or is there a fear?
My biggest fear is confronting my friends at school because they are different than my friends at church. I can talk to my friends at church about church stuff. But the friends at school, they are different people. I don’t know why I hang out with them. I don’t know if I hang out with the right group or not after all that I learned. Just talking to them about this.

What’s your least favorite way to pray?
I like to sing. I guess just praying by myself is hard for me. If I am at adoration or something like that, it’s easy for me to pray. At home when I have nothing to do, I probably won’t pray or I didn’t used to.

So your favorite way to pray is to sing?
Yeah.

What’s some of your favorite songs right now?
I don’t know the name of it, but you know the “YeeHaw” song. That’s probably my favorite song. I like “Lift Your Name on High.”

Did you say you like to play music too?
No.

Have you ever tried?
I did drums for a while but that didn’t work out.

Have you ever dreamed about being in a rock band and smashing a guitar on stage?
Ah, no, not really. It’s not really my thing.

What’s your dream car?
I like the new Chrysler Crossfields.

Have you ever been arrested?
No.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Ten years…probably medical school and college. Because my dad’s doctor, I just kind of figured that I would go into the medical field too.

Are you afraid of where God calls you if you really opened up?
Yeah, I guess, I am. Right now, I am kind of struggling of thinking about priesthood. I was really thinking about that and really praying about that yesterday during the silent time.

I’ll tell you what, we will tell everyone that visits this website to pray for you and for your vocation. But in exchange, you need to pray for them. Make sure your prayers really count. What will you pray for them about?
I think they need to open up to Jesus and let Him guide them where He wants them to be or where they need to go.
