Another Exciting Summer on LIFETEEN.com
This summer there is a lot happening with LIFE TEEN. Let me give you an idea what's going on:

The Beach House
Back by popular demand, we've put the Beach House back on lifeteen.com. Four Catholic siblings spend their summer with their family on the coast of San Diego. I got the idea of putting their journals/blogs on this website after visiting them a three years ago. I thought that each of the kids were cool and had stories that were worth hearing about. They're all a year older, and their stories just get better.

A lot has happened since I first asked the family to have a section here on the site. We launched this new website, which was important. I started dating Candyce from the house. Then earlier this year I asked her to marry me from a lifeguard tower on the beach. (She said yes.) Johnny from the house is actually dating Allie from the “Activate” section that was here on the site earlier in the year. It's not what it sounds like! Not everyone on this website dates. We're just a bunch of friends, and sometimes friendships grow into something more. I'll stop talking before I get soft.

...I asked her to marry me from a lifeguard tower on the beach.
[By the way, the parish that the beach house kids go to is looking for a new youth minister. If you want to serve God and learn to surf, check out the job's page for "St. Patrick Catholic Church in Carlsbad, California.]

LIFE TEEN Training Conference
A conference is basically when people travel from all over to come together for a central purpose. Conferences can be for adults, teenagers, college students, etc. We host conferences for all ages, but in the summer, our biggest conference is to help train adults who run the youth ministry back home at their parishes. I know this sounds boring if you are young, but everyone learns a lot and has a great time.

Summer Camps!
I think we've talked enough about our summer camps here on lifeteen.com for people to know what they're about, but if you're new, here's the deal. We have three summer camps: Covecrest in Georgia, RockyVine in Missouri, and Tepeyac in Arizona. For the past three or four summers (I can't remember), LIFE TEEN parishes from around the country make the road trip to spend a week at one of the camps. Everything that happens in that week is just awesome. I love it!

You can see a lot of photos from the past two years at camp by clicking “Photos” at the top of the page. We'll add new photos from camp each week so you can see what you're missing. To see more of what our camps are about, check out: http://camps.lifeteen.com

LTND
LIFE TEEN Notre Dame (LTND) is a week-long conference we host at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. Rising high school juniors and seniors are chosen from parishes around the country to spend at week on the campus of Notre Dame. This is different than a Steubenville conference, because it's meant for teens who are more spiritually mature and looking to take the next step in their faith. It's here that we interview people for the “Real Teens” section here on the site.

Steubenville Conferences
The Franciscan University of Steubenville is a Catholic university in Ohio that hosts about a dozen weekend conferences for teens in different cities during the summer. Regardless of which conference you go to, you can expect to hear great music, thought-provoking talks, and powerful experiences of prayer. We partner with Steubenville to host two conferences, one in Atlanta, and one Arizona. We work all year to plan for those conferences, and it's always exciting when they actually come together.

Priest and Musician Conference
Later in the summer, we host another training conference for adult ministers, except this time it's for priests and musicians. Everybody knows a good Mass is what Catholic youth ministry. At this conference everybody learns how to make that happen.

I hope to meet some of you who come to this website this summer while I'm on the road. Until then, we'll keep each other in prayer.
