So this week, I thought I’d take you behind the screens (get it?) of LifeTeen.com to let you know just what we’re up to each day, and some of the new projects we’re working on.
Season Two of THE171.
We’ve had a great response to the first season of our apologetics podcast - and this year we’re getting even more in-depth with your faith questions. We’ve gathered questions from emails, conversations, the Catechism, and even the Summa Theologica! (Don’t worry; we translated the Latin.) Subscribe now and stay tuned, because it’s going to be a great season.
If you haven’t heard of THE171 podcast, it works like this. We ask a priest a question about the faith, and in two minutes or less he’ll give you a solid, sharable answer. Then we bring in a layperson (someone who’s not ordained) to join the conversation and tackle some of the follow-up questions. It’s a great way to learn about your faith and answer questions you may have (or might get asked). THE171 airs every-other Wednesday, and you can get it on iTunes or the Podcast section of LifeTeen.com. Season Two premieres September 23rd.

You may have seen our FaceBook Cause or our new Life Teen Page in your travels around everyone’s favorite social network. We’re working on developing new and exciting content for our Facebook outreach. We’ve already started posting some audio and video pieces, as we continue to expand your home for your Catholic faith on Facebook!
(Oh, and let me add - if you’re not a “Fan” yet of Life Teen International, go sign up now! Just go to facebook.com/lifeteen and click “Become a Fan.”)
...boy, is God moving or what!
Vocations Section Updates.
Let’s face it; if you’re a Catholic teen who’s serious about your faith you have taken time to think about your vocation. (You haven’t yet? It’s ok, you still have time!) Whether you’re still discerning (aka figuring it out) or your journey has just started, we want to help you figure out God’s plan for your life. So we’ll be adding some great new content to our section, and trust us - it’s pretty cool. We’ve enlisted the help of priests and sisters from all over the country, and... that’s all I can tell you right now. Really. I want to tell you more, but if I do a certain webmaster may come take away my keyboard.
New Podcast Series.
One of the most successful parts of our web ministry in the last few years has been our podcasting. We debuted our first series over three years ago, as the ‘Sunday Sunday Sunday’ podcast burst onto the scene with the roar of monster trucks. In the last three years we’ve covered every Sunday in each liturgical year (and we’ve retired the truck). In plain English, it means this: if you’re going to Mass any Sunday ever, we’ve got a podcast for your readings.
Our second podcast series, the “Catholic Movie Reviews” podcast, set out to answer the call of Pope B16 to find things “morally and aesthetically (artistically) excellent.” To date, we’ve reviewed over a hundred movies and had more than a dozen special episodes.
Next, we added “THE171” podcast, which I just talked about (remember five paragraphs ago?).
Soon (as in 2009 soon) we will be adding new podcast series to LifeTeen.com and iTunes. I can’t give you all the details, but I can say that it’ll probably make your next high school dance a lot less awkward.
Whew! Boy, is God moving or what? I’m excited, and I hope you are too. See you later, and as always know that I’m praying for you!
Peace,
Greg Iwinski
