LIFE TEEN Presents "Spread the Word"
Do you ever make "deals" with God?
"Lord GOD, you are God and your words are truth..."-2 Samuel 7:28

SITUATION EXPLAINED
Do you ever set conditions for God? Do you ever make "deals" with God? Do you ever sit at Mass or think about things that have to do with your faith and say, "Why God?" Everytime something doesn't make sense to me...everytime I look at a crucifix, everytime I overanalyze the Eucharist...I start to wonder...do you ever just want to say, "Hey God, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!?"

SOLUTION OFFERED
Many people have said it, and I've said it before, but it's important enough to say again. If we only learn to trust in TWO truths in our life, they should be these:
1. There IS a GOD
2. You're not him.

How many times will I be humbled when "I know better." How often will I question the Creator of all Creation, when I think things aren't quite "working right," or when I have a better solution? What will it take for me to, once and for all, to TRUST that God has a plan...a plan with an ending more incredible than my tiny little, pea-sized brain can possibly imagine, if I can only just put my FAITH in Him.

Of course...you're not me, I'm really stubborn. How about you? What will it take to convince you?

Let's see here, FIRST, Samuel reminds us that GOD is God. Samuel doesn't try to play God, He lets God do that...being God would be tiring. I could never listen to all of those prayers...I feel bad clicking over on call-waiting. SECONDLY, He reminds us that God is a lot of things...all-knowing, all-powerful, all-merciful, and that He's ALWAYS HONEST, HIS WORDS are TRUTH!

Given that fact, (you know, that God's WORD is truth), what can we put our faith in?
Glad you asked...here's a short list...

SINCE HIS WORDS ARE TRUTH, I BELIEVE JESUS WHEN HE SAYS:

* "I am with you always, until the end of the age." -Matthew 28:20

* "Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me."-Mark 8:34

* "This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me." -Luke 22:19

* "For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink." -John 6:55

What else are we waiting to hear? He really couldn't put it any simpler.

SALVATION GIVEN
"Lord GOD, you are God and your words are truth..."-2 Samuel 7:28

I'm not God, and you're not God...thank God.
